Japanese Seto porcelain tray for Hibi incense burning pad
Seto, located in Aichi Prefecture, is one of Japan’s six oldest kilns. It has a rich history that dated back to the 13th century for making the exquisite “setomono” (瀬戸焼, Seto-yaki) glaze wares, often cherished for tea ceremonies and dining, and sought after by collectors.
In collaboration with local artisans, Hibi introduces the green Oribe incense trays, celebrated for their simple, rustic charm. Lighting a Hibi 10-minute aroma on the Seto tray allows one to experience a harmonious blend of three traditional Japanese arts: incense making, matchstick crafting, and pottery.
